psalm 179

psalm 179

Here is a Vermont sugarhouse at “full boil” making maple syrup. The steam rising from the roof vent is a common sight here in the springtime. My friend Matthew Wright wrote a poem on this very subject.

Psalms are sacred songs in praise of the Spirit. This painting is in praise of the Spirit in nature. This theme reinforces my quest to include spirituality in my work.

Forty damn gallons

of sap for one gallon sweet.

Cold spring’s industry

works dilute joy from bare trees.

In Florida: oranges.
